Well, I went to the orientation and i meet my program advisor. We had a chat about the school, my background, and what to expect at RIT. I showed her my transcripts and a few weeks later and was excepted. Just be yourself and be POSITIVE... RIT is "Hell on wheels" with it's quarter system and being on top of things is important if you want to make it to the next quarter!

P.S: If you have a

it's very easy to get in. Just do a good essay and a decent ACT score. You will get in right away.

I wasn't very active in HS and never really did any clubs or sports but I was gladly accepted by RIT. RIT (especially recently) has been lax in their acceptance of students. When you look at the drop out rate freshman year you cant blame it entirely on the environment because RIT does have some very tough programs and they will accept almost everyone and will let the system work out the ones who shouldn't make it. This is probably to get more money but I am very happy with my choice of college. RIT has always been a industry driven school and they understand that not all students were able to do well in HS due to various reasons.

CALL PEOPLEMar 18 2010Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
CALL PEOPLE. it's all about connections and showing that you give a crap about your future. have a long term goal of some sort so they know there's a backbone reason to why you want to spend your money and their time on your education.

also, if youre a photo major, still come up with a small portfolio and ask someone in the dept. what they think of it. chances are if youre good, theyll see potential in you and maybe pull some strings in the admin. offices.
